Mrs. Nicholson's Birthday!

Today I was away and you had the pleasure of having Mr. Corby as your teacher.  I hope you all were well behaved and that you had a good day.  I had a long but good day.  It seems so long ago that my daughter Lucy was so sick, and her heart didn't work well.  I am happy to report that she is doing well and has been given the chance to get a check up every two years instead of every year.  I have posted some photos below, and hopefully you will take some time to look at them.  She is a strong girl and we are so proud of her.

I'll just recap what happened today.

You began the day with Math. Patterning and algebra, and drawing out the patterns and adding them to a t-chart.  You were asked to do questions 8,9 &10.  I will check to see what is done tomorrow so do the questions for homework if you haven't finished.

After that, you began working on your "I am From" poems.  Hopefully you got some good ideas flowing and had an easy time planning your poems.  I will conference with you tomorrow and am looking forward to seeing what you have done!

After lunch, you were given some time to work on your title pages and hopefully you used the time wisely.  Next you had gym with Mrs. Nicholson and I hope you all had fun.

For the end of the day you all searched for natural objects to use with our print-making unit.  I hope you had fun, and were able to find some really cool things.

For tomorrow:
1. Math finished
2. I am From - started and ready for conferencing tomorrow
3. History title pages - started and ongoing
4. Bring in materials for Science
5. TTC photos are tomorrow $5.25
6. Surprise planned for someone who had a birthday today postponed to tomorrow!

See you all tomorrow!
After her appointment, she got a bear with a heart on it for being so brave.
This was the wing where we lived for a month at Sick Kids because Lucy was so sick.
This was before Lucy's surgery, she was weak here and had to have oxygen all day and night.
Happy leaving the hospital with her Daddy.
From when we were first admitted to the hospital.  Note that she has two IV's in and yet it seemed as though she didn't have anything wrong with her hands! I love my super girl!
